Too many words. A vision statement should be easy to remember and encapsulate what is desired. My suggestion, for what's its worth is: The Airts For A'

Ambition will only be fully realised with increased investment in the arts. That requires to be included somewhere. If not, stated intentions may appear hollow.

5. Please provide comments on the aims and actions under this ambition. What do you like, or dislike, or what would you change?

Not sure about Cultural Leadership post. Would that be a politically restricted post? An Arts 'Czar' requires an element of independence from government. Why is this post proposed? Is this not the job already of the Culture minister?

Empowering through culture

6. What is your view of the ambition, ‘Empowering through culture’?

Empowering is great, but it still requires financial investment. A supporting statement on fiscal plans for the Arts would be important. Currently, for example, and in direct opposition to the SG position on 'equity', school pupils receiving instrumental lessons in certain areas of Scotland benefit freely; others pay over £500 for the same service.

Sustaining culture

Sustaining requires financial investment. A statement on the SG position on this required here. Otherwise, it's all words.

14. What do you think success for the strategy will look like?

What do you think success for the strategy will look like?
People understanding it, having faith in it. More equity in arts opportunities across Scotland. Education, Health, Social Work building in KPIs to measure qualitative and quantitative data regarding the arts and demonstrating an increase in Arts involvement and positive outcomes.

The Vision Statement needs to be short, clear and memorable. I humbly suggest this: The Airts for A'
