If you have any further comments on the Vision, please provide them below. What do you like, or dislike, or what would you change?
Equity welcomes the vision for culture in Scotland. The majority of Equity members who work in the cultural sectors are free lance artists and Equity would urge greater emphasis on the support of free lancers needed to help sustain their careers. Equity would also welcome greater emphasis on the importance of clear pathways for future Scottish artists. Scottish artists have often had to move elsewhere or been overshadowed by the scale of cultural activity down south. We suggest an appropriate definition of Scottish artists would be those 'artists or practitioners who live in or have been educated in Scotland'
