Art is here celebrated for the money it can generate, but not simply for itself.

Again: to much of what can do, but not enough about making art just for making art.

No mention of the artists (creative) who will do this and whether they want to be a tool for society's benefit, or just make work. Or how we will sustain our practice and lives while making. It costs.

I am sick of hearing about abstract notions of support, especially mentoring. These cost nothing and contribute little. What visual artists need is money. Money to live, money for studio space, money for materials. I hope for a UBI. But the informal, social security system related support ('I am a government artist: I draw dole") is broken. Visual artist, especially disable (I am both) need financial support, not warm words.

"Support the freelance cultural workforce and nurture skills, talent and excellence by exploring ways to improve their economic and social status and adopt a broad and long term approach to supporting skills development from early years onwards." With money. To pay for food, and materials and living costs.

Acme studio sin London, and other ways of providing truly affordable housing. Just FYI: I am putting together Risk Street, acquiring property in Glasgow for housing, studios, a gallery and space for outdoor art. We suffer from insecure housing (I am currently homeless) and we need ways to remedy out low income and high rents.

13. What can you or your organisation do to support the vision, aims, ambitions and actions of the strategy?
