Community Considerations

1. What are your views on the potential social, community and health impacts of an unconventional oil and gas industry in Scotland?

What are your views on the potential social, community and health impacts of an unconventional oil and gas industry in Scotland?
I think this is an incredible risk to put upon the people of Scotland. Even if it was safe 99% of the time, there is always a chance that our water can be contaminated. Why put the health and wellbeing of communities behind the business of unconventional oil and and gas drilling? We should be continuing our efforts in renewable energies, not drilling below our feet and damaging the very earth we live on.

2. What are your views on the community benefit schemes that could apply, were an unconventional oil and gas industry to be developed in Scotland?

What are your views on the community benefit schemes that could apply, were an unconventional oil and gas industry to be developed in Scotland?
It's just a way of dangling cash as a carrot so that people gain in the short term but ultimately pay a very heavy price if our water table is contaminated.

Economic Considerations

3. What are your views on the potential impact of unconventional oil and gas industry on Scotland's economy and manufacturing sector?

What are your views on the potential impact of unconventional oil and gas industry on Scotland's economy and manufacturing sector?
I'm sure it will benefit the economy in many ways but at what cost? We need to be less driven by what our economy is doing and try and create a better environment to live upon. Renewable energy would boost our economy and manufacturing so let's do that instead.

4. What are your views on the potential role of unconventional oil and gas in Scotland's energy mix?

What are your views on the potential role of unconventional oil and gas in Scotland's energy mix?
I think it would certainly give some benefits to our energy mix but we would be drilling onto the very earth we live on, causing unknown health and environmental issues. That trumps any benefits in my view.

Environmental Considerations

What are your views on the potential environmental impacts of an unconventional oil and gas industry in Scotland?
I think it could be catastrophic. Why even risk it? It's too valuable to compromise and for what, the sake of big business. Let's find another way of building our energy economy.

6. What are your views on the potential climate change impacts of unconventional oil and gas industry in Scotland?

What are your views on the potential climate change impacts of unconventional oil and gas industry in Scotland?
When we are creeping ever closer to environmental disaster worldwide, why are we even considering drilling into the land beneath our feet? Let's protect our world not rinse it for everything it's worth and to hell with future generations.

7. What are your views on the regulatory framework that would apply to an unconventional oil and gas industry in Scotland?

hat are you views on the regulatory framework that would apply to an unconventional oil and gas industry in Scotland?
I think it would probably be legally sound, but like everything, it would be circumvented by big business in order to make more profits. We would find out about loopholes or bad practice after a disaster or further down the line when nothing could be done about it, Pandora's box would already be open. Where business can take advantage, they will, as has been proven time and time again.

This is a terrible idea driven by money, not the care and respect for the people who live In this country. Scotland is a truly beautiful place with lots to offer both it's people and wildlife, and yet we threaten the very land we hold so dear. In my opinion we shouldn't even need this consultation, it's so farcical an idea.
