2. The table in Annex A sets out a number of early actions that we think will support improvements for mental health.

Are there any other actions that you think we need to take to improve mental health in Scotland?
With regards to prevention and early intervention, I think an NHS phone app should be introduced which is well researched and has a strong evidence base. This should include different self help materials, psychoeducation etc. This would be great because it's easily accessible and can be used at anytime. This would especially be useful for younger populations as the majority are now using smartphones. Also, in addition to telephone based help like Breathing Space, I think it would also be useful to have an online chat for people to use as well (whether this is skilled practitioners or volunteers). As there isn't really anything like this available for individuals above the age of 18. As someone with depression, I'd find this really helpful. I volunteer at Childline so many young people use our 1-2-1 online chat service because it's more anonymous and can feel more comfortable for them to use as they're so used to texting friends and communications on technology-based mediums like social media.
