An emphasis must also be explicitly placed on creativity- the predominant higher order thinking skill, responsible for innovation, true original thinking, problem solving and the agency and autonomy our pupils are being exepcted to develop.

NO! This strategy should read steAm, not stem. There is an abundance of literature and information available to support this and we are not the progressive education we claim to be if we do not include expressive and creative areas of the curriculum when we demand skills honed here in our current and future workforces.
