Do you agree with the definition provided of STEM for the purposes of this Strategy?
I think ICT teaching in Scottish secondary schools is a disgrace. I say this as a parent of a 16-year old, as an educator (I lecture on ICT in a university), and as an employer (I work for a software house, which struggles to hire). There are plenty of ideas for better ICT teaching, for example https://royalsociety.org/topics-policy/projects/computing-in-schools/report/ from the Royal Society, but Scotland ignores these. I complained about this a few years ago and received back a 2-page letter full of difficult-to-understand bureaucratic education-speak, which seemed to suggest that no one in the Scottish Dept of Education has any interest in what the Royal Society (etc) suggests, or in ICT teaching initiatives elsewhere in UK (eg, England). No wonder Scottish PISA scores are plummeting
