All consultation responses have been published, along with a brief summary of key points raised. The Scottish Government have taken into account consultees' views and no changes have been made to these regulations. The regulations will be laid as drafted in the Scottish Parliament on 30th May 2017.

Overview
This consultation looks for comments on the draft Registration of Independent Schools (Prescribed Person) (Scotland) Regulations 2017 that set out the arrangements in respect of current and future teachers working in independent schools having to be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS).
Why your views matter
We are consulting on the detail of the regulations to ensure that:
• the regulations are clearly written and understandable
• the transitional arrangements relating to current teachers and the handling of applications for new schools is reasonable and fair
What happens next
Following the closing date, all responses will be given full consideration. Responses will be published where we have been given permission to do so.
