Overview
This consultation provides an opportunity to comment on the regulations expanding the Scottish Fiscal Commission’s functions. The expansion of functions reflects the Fiscal Framework agreed between the UK and Scottish Governments and the new powers devolved to Scotland through the Scotland Act 2016.
Why your views matter
The Scottish Government intends to lay legislation in January 2017, updating the SFC’s functions, to take effect from the 1 April 2017 – at the same time as it becomes a statutory body and new powers come into force. Your response will help inform that process.
