Overview

Consultation on draft statutory guidance for local authorities relating to certain sections of Part 9 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 - Allotments.

Why your views matter

Part 9 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 relating to Allotments came into force on 1 April 2018. Scottish Ministers committed to providing statutory guidance to local authorities for sections of the Act where it was considered that further guidance would be helpful in assisting them in carrying out their duties under Part 9 of the Act.

A public consultation on proposed wording for the statutory guidance to local authorities relating to Part 9 - Allotments - took place from August to November 2017. Analysis of that consultation was published in April 2018, which provided the basis for further development of this draft guidance alongside the Tripartite Group on Allotments. A link to the document Outcome of consultation Allotments Further Guidance for Local Authorities is provided at the bottom of this page, which explains how responses to the 2017 consultation have been taken into consideration in this draft guidance.

Comments and feedback received from this consultation will be used to help shape the final version of the statutory guidance provided to local authorities to assist them in carrying out their duties under Part 9 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015.
