Overview
This consultation seeks views on a proposal to increase court fees by 2% on 1 April 2022, and on 1 April 2023 and 2024. This increase is in line with expected inflation. The consultation also seeks views on minor changes to exemptions from court fees and also some technical changes to the fees narratives.
Why your views matter
The Scottish Government considers that consultation on the proposed changes to court fees and the level of fees set is important. We will take consultation responses into consideration when drawing up the Scottish Statutory Instruments that will provide for court fees in the financial years from 2022 to 2025.
What happens next
The consultation responses will be analysed and the Scottish Government will publish the analysis.
