Overview

This consultation is about guidance on effective community engagement in the local development planning process. It is for planning authorities and communities. The guidance forms part of the Government’s work on reform of the planning system and implementation of the Planning (Scotland) Act 2019. It supports the new approach to local development planning on which further new regulations and guidance are available.

Why your views matter

We are seeking views which we will consider in finalising the guidance. Views are particularly welcome views from planning authorities, community bodies, and representative groups.

What happens next

Following the closing date, all responses will be analysed and considered along with any other available evidence to help us finalise the guidance and impact assessments. Responses will be published where we have been given permission to do so. An analysis report will also be made available.
