We asked

We sought views on draft proposals for changes and extensions to permitted development rights (PDR), which were included in Phase 1 of our extensive work programme.  This included proposed legislative changes for development relating to digital communications infrastructure, agricultural, peatland restoration and active travel.   

A public consultation took place between 1 October and 12 November 2020.    

You said

We received 119 responses to the consultation of which 61 were from groups/organisations and 58 from members of the public. 

We did

Craigforth were commissioned to undertake an independent analysis of all responses.  This report [insert link] presents the findings from the public consultation and explains the methodology that was used to analyse responses.

Where permission to publish has been provided, the consultation responses are now available to view online.

The responses, together with the analysis report, have informed and shaped the Scottish Ministers’ approval of the Scottish Statutory Instrument, laid before the Scottish Parliament on 18 December 2020.  The legislative changes are intended to come into force on 1 April 2021.

Overview

We are seeking views on draft proposals for changes to Permitted Development Rights for the four development types selected for Phase 1 of our programme. We are also seeking views on the accompanying update to the 2019 Sustainability Appraisal and a number of draft impact assessments examining the potential impact of the proposed changes.
