Sustainability is open to Local Authority interpretation.
Provider Neutral the same, just non existant.
Childminders have been favoured being paid an hourly rate of £5 per hour per child (in Glasgow for example) while Private Nurseries are paid an hourly rate of £3.28.
Childminders are less qualified than long term successful Private Nursery Providers yet we are both supposed to be providing high quality ELC and nurturing on an equal Provider Neutral basis?

Section 3: Implementing the early learning and childcare living wage commitment
6. What areas would you look to be addressed in the technical guidance note for supporting implementation of the ELC Living Wage commitment?
What areas would you look to be addressed in the technical guidance note for supporting implementation of the ELC Living Wage commitment?
Fair work practice commitment means that the gap needs closed between Local Authority settings and Private Providers. This is NOT happening.
This means a higher hourly funded rate for all Partner Providers is critical to meet the upskilling and recruitment and keeping of high quality ELC staff.
Funding follows the child is open to Local Authority interpretation with (as cited earlier for an example,) Glasgow city only funding hours at a rate of £3.28 per hour to Private Providers

Are there any particular challenges or issues that may arise from this approach?
This is sujective as to whether you are a new provider but would safeguard children from becoming part of "big business" and a commodity
