I feel there is a need to evidence that the monitoring of standards is a continuous process which leads to greater accountability and professionalism within the service.
2. Do you agree that the presumption of reappointment should be replaced with an appropriate test based on a safeguarder’s performance and completion of minimum training requirements, including pre-service and reappointment training?

There have been significant changes to legislation and legal precedents are being created constantly - it is important that there is ree-assurance that safeguarders are being kept abrest of these issues.

It would be beneficial to have feedback from families, social workers and other professionals. I appreciate that this can be difficult to do given that outcomes may not have been what families (or social workers) may have wanted but it would still be important to know that the process was carried out well and that families and others felt that they were appropriately consulted and listened to.
