Our Vision – the Guiding Principles of Inspection

1.1. To what extent do you support, or not support, the Scottish government’s overall proposed vision for the purpose and aim of inspection of ELC and school age childcare services?

Please select one item
Radio button: Unticked Fully support
Radio button: Ticked Partially support
Radio button: Unticked Don’t support
Can you tell us why you think this?
I agree there must be change. Speaking to other practitioners within this profession, most felt neglected during the pandemic and before it begun. To raise the spirits of the workforce we need a national pay structure and a national designation title. WE are not childcare, most practitioners have worked hard to achieve at least one degree, many have more than one, we must be recognised as early years educators and not childcare!

1.2. Do you think the proposed vision is missing anything or contains something that you think does not reflect the purpose and aim of inspection of ELC and school age childcare services?

Please select one item
Radio button: Ticked Yes
Radio button: Unticked No
If yes, can you tell us what that is?
Why does care stop at 5? The care inspectorate should be inspecting throughout all of education and not just the early years. All children deserve the best.

1.3. To what extent do you support, or not support, the Scottish government’s draft guiding principles for inspection of ELC and school age childcare services?
