Please explain your answer
I believe it should be even more ambitious - higher and sooner, by 2040.

2. Do you agree that the Climate Change Bill should contain provisions that allow for a net-zero greenhouse gas emission target to be set at a later date?

Bring it forward, 0 emissions by 2040

5. Do you agree that annual targets should be set as a direct consequence of interim and 2050 targets?

Radio button: Ticked Yes
Radio button: Unticked No
Please explain your answer
Yes except, as I stated above, I think 2050 is too late. Interim targets should be set at short intervals - and met. If they are not met, then new strategies must be employed to exceed targets the following term.

Actual Emissions

6. Do you agree that all emission reduction targets should be set on the basis of actual emissions, removing the accounting adjustment for the EU ETS?

7a. What are your views on allowing the interim and 2050 emission reduction targets to be updated, with due regard to advice from the CCC, through secondary legislation?

What are your views on allowing the interim and 2050 emission reduction targets to be updated, with due regard to advice from the CCC, through secondary legislation?
I have mixed views on this. I depends on who is in charge at any given time

7b. What do you think are the most important criteria to be considered when setting or updating emission reduction targets?

What do you think are the most important criteria to be considered when setting or updating emission reduction targets?
Which industries/sectors are the biggest contributors and how can they be legally enforced to do more
How to create an infrastructure that is favourable to the targets - eg reducing investment in new roads in favour of investing in better a better rail network
Bringing forward a plan to stop the sale of petrol vehicles
A transition plan to make the move from fossil fuels to renewables

8a. What are your views on the frequency of future Climate Change Plans?

What are your views on the frequency of future Climate Change Plans?
Unsure

8b. What are your views on the length of time each Climate Change Plan should cover?

What are your views on the length of time each Climate Change Plan should cover?
3-5 years maximum

8c. What are your views on how development of future Climate Change Plans could be aligned with Paris Stocktake Processes?

What are your views on how development of future Climate Change Plans could be aligned with Paris Stocktake Processes?
They should try to exceed the targets set - eg make <less than 1.5* rise a reality

9. What are your views on the proposal that any shortfall against previous targets should be made up through subsequent Climate Change Plans?

What are your views on the proposal that any shortfall against previous targets should be made up through subsequent Climate Change Plans?
They should

10. What are your views on these initial considerations of the impact of the Bill proposals on Scotland’s people, both now and in future generations?

What are your views on these initial considerations of the impact of the Bill proposals on Scotland’s people, both now and in future generations?
If the Bill does not deliver more than is initially considered, it will not be good enough. Without a stronger plan, Scotland's people will continue to live in fuel poverty and be subjected to poorer air quality (these re just a couple of impacts). Future generations will be left to clean up the mess that we did not do enough to tackle. Climate change will impact in every area of their lives including their quality of health and their opportunities for prosperity

11. What are your views on the opportunities and challenges that the Bill proposals could present for businesses?

What are your views on the opportunities and challenges that the Bill proposals could present for businesses?
The Bill (with some stronger and more progressive targets) could present Scottish businesses with a fabulous opportunity to move ahead in industry by creating a carbon neutral fuel economy.
It could move ahead with an agriculture system than protects the environment as well as helping farming and crofting communities grow and improve Scotland's food economy.
It could be a major draw for overseas engineering businesses as we progress as forerunners and innovators in renewable
This will require a full business transition plan, particularly in engineering to ensure personnel skills transferrable. Education will need to reflect these requirements

As above

12d. Do you agree with the conclusions and recommendations set out in the Environmental Report?

Do you agree with the conclusions and recommendations set out in the Environmental Report?
I agree that increased efforts need to be made and that consideration needs to be given to infrastructure
I agree there is uncertainty
I disagree that there is not enough evidence to set a 0 emissions target, a target should be set

There should be more cognisance taken of the damage intensive farming does to the environment and how that and animal farming is a massive contributor to GHG
Land management should be part of the plan
Private landlords should be enforced to make their properties a minimum of C rated
