What are your views on the potential social, community and health impacts of an unconventional oil and gas industry in Scotland?
I think that it could have a devastating effect on our health having read all the available document regarding the development of fracking in Oklahoma I find there are serious health concerns.
Potential for seismic activity on an unexpected scale and long term destruction of areas where fracking takes place. This to me outweighs the (doubtful) economic "benefits"

It's a sweetening pill and we have to think of future generations, not simply this one! There is only one planet , let's look after it

The economic benefits and opportunities are overstated and the threats are understated.

What are your views on the potential role of unconventional oil and gas in Scotland's energy mix?
We should disregard it and concentrate on wave, wind and solar power. We have the resources to lead the world. I do not think the USA offers a model for Scotland to copy.

Environmental Considerations

5. What are your views on the potential environmental impacts of an unconventional oil and gas industry in Scotland?

What are your views on the potential environmental impacts of an unconventional oil and gas industry in Scotland?
Devastating. Destruction of ground water is likely. Increased seismic activity is highly likely. Companies will spoil our lansndscape and then avoid the long term clean up.
See the court document regarding houses and land destroyed in Oaklahoma and nearby States. Multinationals will deny responsibility.

6. What are your views on the potential climate change impacts of unconventional oil and gas industry in Scotland?

What are your views on the potential climate change impacts of unconventional oil and gas industry in Scotland?
I don't know enough to comment except that it is a "dirty" fuel source and we need green energy. We have done so well with this and must continue. What is the point of encour aging electric cars etc and then allowing fracking et all. It's a no brainier.

7. What are your views on the regulatory framework that would apply to an unconventional oil and gas industry in Scotland?

hat are you views on the regulatory framework that would apply to an unconventional oil and gas industry in Scotland?
Simply forbid it in the same way as presently we have attempted to declare Scotland a nuclear free zone ( if we were independent we would be able to ensure this).

Overall, and in light of the available evidence, what do you think would be the main benefits, if any, of an unconventional oil and gas industry in Scotland?
None!
A few jobs but we could create more jobs by truly developing green sources.

Destruction of landscape.
Theft of Scotlands resources by multinationals.
Seismic activity.
Theft of our inheritance of a heathy planet.
We must stop this for our children, grandchildren and future generations

I have been to a number of meetings( largeones) where the Party Leader and at one all her cabinet were present. The halls were full of community minded people and the anger at the pres not governments stance of a Moro tori unless was palpable.
Please save this country for my grandchildren.
