Please explain your answer in the text box below
Largely agree but would wish an emphasise on supporting local grid reliability. Also local production leading to local benefit thus supporting vulnerable and remote communities.
Should not be only projects of scale to meat a target but recognise wider benefits.

2. What are your views on the actions themes and key actions identified to support the development of the hydrogen economy over the next 5 years?

Please explain your answer in the text box below
Workforce training and skills should be at the front of the curve and available right across the geography of our country. Over 70% of our renewable assets are in the remote rural and island areas. The education system should allow these communities to train locally to work locally thereby tackling de population effectively.

3. In your view, is there any further action that we, or other key organisations (please specify), can take to maximise the positive impacts and minimise negative ones on people, communities and businesses in Scotland in support of a just transition to net zero?

Please explain your answer in the text box below
Just transition should not just mean tackling the large scale hydrocarbon legacy it should also give an opportunity to invest in our remote, rural and island economies. Tackling connectivity issues. Strengthening grid reliability but most of all allowing socio economic benefit to support our most vulnerable communities.
Local produced green energy feeding into battery storage for local grid resilience, hydrogen replacing gas heating in homes and ferries powered by energy produced on the islands they serve

4. Are there further actions that could be taken by government or industry that you think would drive a reduction in the cost of hydrogen? Please provide evidence to support any suggestions.

Please explain your answer in the text box below
Investment in skills and training will ensure capturing more long term benefits in this country. Net cost should be used when calculating real cost enabling recognition of offsetting costs in policy areas like tackling depopulation, energy security and increasing viability of businesses in remote and rural areas.

5. What are your views on the funding principles and scope of the Emerging Energy Technologies Fund? In your view, are there any eligibility and project assessment criteria we should consider as part of the Emerging Energy Technologies Fund?

Please explain your answer in the text box below
I am generally very supportive but would like factors like geographical spread of opportunities and anchoring benefit close to the production of the renewable energy to be valued.

6. In your view, what should be the priority areas of focus for the Hydrogen Innovation Fund over the next 5 years?

Please explain your answer in the text box below
Encouraging innovation and establishing a leading position in the technology. Creating a knowledge base and skilled workforce.

7. What are your views on how we can use Scottish Government funding to leverage and encourage private sector and other forms of investment?

Please explain your answer in the text box below
Public funding should be used when added benefit can be demonstrated such as capturing supply chain benefits or accelerating innovation to gain advantage. Also where it helps tackle other issue such as fuel poverty, demographics or employment.
