Consultation Questionnaire

1. Is the strategy founded on the right principles?

Are there other principles that should be considered as we continue to develop the strategy?
Equalities - I have a passionate belief that we need to consider the ways and means of making digital learning opportunities as equitable as possible and that the attainment gap, recognised by the Scottish Government as being as a key area of focus this parliament and beyond, is not widened by an ever growing digital gap. How can we put the power of digital learning into ALL children's hands, regardless of their level of poverty? A real financial challenge for practitioners and policy makers.

I'm hoping that key players in Educational technologies like Apple, CALL Scotland and Google, have seats at the table. And me obviously...:)

Learners are one of the key stakeholders for me in expressing how they wish to demonstrate their learning and their creativity, opened up by the range of technologies in app and hardware form needs to be matched to practitioners skills in extracting assessment evidence form that criteria. Therefore we need to expand our pedagogical framework for assessment which inherently leads back to Initial Teacher Educational and the CPD needs of current practitioners.

8. Is there anything else you wish to add about this strategy?

is there anything else you wish to add about this strategy?
I am so pleased and proud this is getting off the ground. It is absolutely the best way forward in moving classrooms and teachers into the next 20 years of a dynamic landscape. It smartly sits beside Developing Scotland's Young Workforce as a driver for change in Scotland. In terms of transformational change I think there are some bold decisions that need to be made in terms of infrastructure and equalities of access, particularly in allowing learning to happen at any time and any place, regardless of how well off you are. We need to demonstrate our commitment to families and their children that we can level the playing field for everyone through technology. Exciting opportunities here.
