I feel anything in this respect needs to seek parental permission prior to any education and for all classwork in relation to this needs to be discussed with a vast range of parents as to what is age appropriate, every child is at different levels of maturity even when the same age .

How does this help bring consistency to learning?
My son aged 9 expressed what he learned in school was not appropriate for his age. He said he feels like it’s something for big kids in high school. As a parent I discuss with him topics as and when they come up and also ensure that it clear what is in law . As a parent age appropriate learning and learning the correct terms for body parts is useful and also about the pant rule , anything other than this I do not think is appropriate for children in primary school .

If you feel the guidance is not clear, what further additions are needed
I don’t feel like this type of information is needed for children at all . There is no need for young children to know about the different sexual characteristics. Children can learn about kindness first and foremost .

If you feel the guidance is not clear, what further additions are needed
I don’t believe children need to learn about LGBT in schools. Or influenced in anyway regarding LGBT. Simplifying education like it’s ok to like a boy or a girl is sufficient . I don’t believe affirming to children that there in the wrong body is right , children are born Just as they are if a child is expressing gender issues this needs to be handled correctly with the right physcotherapy and not within school . So the family should be signposted to the appropriate professionals .

Children only need to learn about safe boundaries and being able to say NO. Or taught to sign no if non verbal.

What resources should not be included?
LGBT education does not need to be in schools. If a child approaches a teacher in this respect to make a disclosure the child should always be supported , however not all children are and don’t have to be exposed to this type of learning .
