Part One: The ‘Pre-consultation phase’
Part 1 - Please tell us:
What went well:
I mainly engaged with the process through the Forth Estuary Forum. This was a helpful way of understanding the stages and having others to discuss it with.
What went less well?
At times there seemed to be minimal communication as to how things were progressing. This lead at times to the process feeling disjointed. It was difficult to understanding its significance and relevance in the context of other emerging policy and legislation.
What could be done differently?
More regular communication on progress.
Part Two: The Consultation – “Planning Scotland’s Seas”
Part 2 - Please tell us:
What went well?
The information provided was comprehensive and detailed.
What went less well?
At this stage nothing.
What could be done differently?
The information on GIS could have been more accessible. At times it was temperamental.
Part Three: Publishing the Final Plan and looking forward
Part 3 - Please tell us:
What went well?
No detailed comments on this stage. However it was interesting to be invited to the parliamentary stage again through the Forth Estuary Forum.
What could be done differently?
The communication of progress at all stages is important to keep stakeholders engaged.
