6.2 Temporary use of land: Shooting ranges

30. Do you have any comments on the potential exclusion of the use of land as a target shooting range from class 15 PDR (permitted development right)? If such a change were taken forward, do you have views on the potential justification for exempting the activities discussed in paragraphs 6.2.4 and 6.2.5?

This proposal is utterly outrageous and clearly proposed by people who are anti target shooting / shooting in general. I travel to Scotland 4 times a year with upto 30 shooters to use the range at Eskadalemuir. We stay for several nights in local accommodation and use the pubs and restaurants… The shooting is amoungst the best you can get in the UK. The shoot is well run, extremely safe and shots cannot be heard out of the valley. This proposal is clearly an attack on shooting and should not be passed. Target shooters are respectful, bring much needed money into the Scottish economy and to try to ban it is just completely stupid…
