Overview

Transport Scotland is seeking views on its proposed approach to the rail infrastructure investment strategy from April 2019. The results from this consultation will help to inform the Scottish Ministers’ High Level Output Specification (HLOS). The HLOS is a blueprint aimed at improving performance, reducing journey times and increasing capacity and capability of the Scottish rail network. It sets out a programme of investment in Scotland’s railway to enable Network Rail to operate, maintain and enhance the rail infrastructure.

Why your views matter

Transport Scotland is seeking views on its proposed approach as we recognise the importance of capturing external stakeholder views to help inform our future plans.

What happens next

Once the consultation is completed, the analysed responses on the key principles and objectives that underpin our approach, along with technical railway industry advice will then be fed into the Scottish Ministers’ final High level Output Specification (HLOS) which will be published in the summer of 2017.
