Please explain your answer in the text box below
My own mother's mental health has suffered. Her communication levels have deteriorated to the extent she now basically says yes or no. Prior to the long periods of lockdown mainly due to staff testing positive, she was great at holding a conversation.

2. What do you think should be the main aims of Anne’s Law?

Please explain your answer in the text box below
That family or friends should continue to have access to their relatives as long as they have pcr and regular lft test. More than one visitor as it can be so difficult for one person to be the only visitor especially when they are working and have a family to look after.

3. Do you think this should be a right for residents or for the visitor (s)?

Please explain your answer in the text box below
Not seeing a loved one affects their family and friends too. I have been distraught at Not seeing my mum wondering how she is coping.

Questions Part 2

4. How can the rights of residents be balanced against the rights of other people in the setting for example other residents, staff, visiting professionals?

Please explain your answer in the text box below
Everyone has a right to see their loved one. If proper measures are taken there should be no issues.

5. What do you see as the main benefits, challenges and risks of the proposal to develop legislation to support people living in adult care homes to have the right to see and spend time with those who are important to them?

Benefits - Please explain your answer in the text box below
The benefits are endless….. happy resident, happy family/friend. Peace of mind knowing our relative is safe and well. Stimulation and interaction is vital. I have witnessed the results of my mum being separated from us. Health and well-being.
Challenges - Please explain your answer in the text box below
There should be no challenges, it’s a basic human right to see a loved one.
Risks - Please explain your answer in the text box below
If proper measures are followed, the risk is the same as the relative being at home.
