One suitably qualified operative is generally sufficient for carrying out work on site. However it needs to be reinforced that the qualified operative must be on site at all times whilst work is being carried out, as there is a tendency for the qualified operative to leave site at times to pick up materials leaving unqualified staff on site to continue working.

While one supervisor may be acceptable in the majority of instances this has to be balanced with the size of the site being work on and or the distance between multiple work sites.

Please explain your answer
This is not an easy question to answer as the number of sites that could be looked after concurrently is dependent on a number of factors, the size of the site, the complexity of the work being carried out, the distance between sites and the geographic area being worked in. While it may be possible to look after five relatively small sites in Clackmannanshire, it may be a bit more challenging in Dumfries and Galloway, nearly impossible in Highland and impossible in any authority area where travel between various islands may be needed to visit all of the sites.

Other amount (hourly, daily, etc)
Please explain your answer
At least daily to check on ongoing works and to ensure that works of less than one day duration to firstly check the site condition, then the work in progress (if possible) and then to check the site condition once works are completed or cleared.
